Week 4 SC 2025

Written by: Jasper Ding

Dear Parents and Students,

Thank you so much for participating in our program, our club is glad to have offered this summer camp as a way to expand interest in robotics and STEM in our community.

Over the past 4 weeks, students have grown so much, and have learned how to apply concepts such as build quality, bracing, gear ratios, and programming principles, in order to make and experiment with robot designs. We have successfully finished the claw bots, sumo bots, sprocket league, racing, and ringmaster challenges! All of these games had different concepts and ideas that had to be applied in order to succeed. We hope all of the students had fun, and learned new concepts that could help out later on in life!

Throughout the program, we went through both ups and downs, and were able to teach live troubleshooting and problem solving. If you have any suggestions, please fill out the feedback form here, your response will greatly help future years of our summer camp. Certificates of completion will be sent out by our officer team over this following week, so look forward to that!

We would also like to recognize our club's mentors, volunteers, officers, and supervisors (Ms. Dreon, Ms. Basu, Mr. Covalt, Ms. Oji-Marchese) for helping out and making this all possible. If your child is a rising 9th-grader attending DVHS, please consider having them apply for our Novice Program. It's a year-long program for freshmen that our Directors of Education run, offering more advanced learning through metal VEX (VEX V5), preparing them for our competitive teams (which all of the mentors are on, and went through the program themselves). For more information on this, check out each of our competitive teams, novice program, and competitive program on our website. If you want to learn more about this year's VEX V5 Game, check out the game reveal!

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to contact@dvhsrobotics.com. Thank you so much for participating, we hope all your children grow up to enjoy STEM as much as we do.
