Week 3 SC 2025

Written by: Jasper Ding

Hello Parents and Students,

We are now 3 weeks through the summer camp! Since the last update, students worked on the Racing challenge (maze challenge was canceled due to some technical issues). In this new challenge, teams compete to get the fastest time on the track, building a bot that is both fast but also easy to control through the sharp twists and turns. Throughout the lessons, students learned about lifts (scissor lifts, 2-bar, 4-bar, etc.), and learned about the physics behind why concepts like mechanical advantage work. We also started our final game VEX IQ Ringmaster, where students started the engineering design process.

Families are invited for our final summer camp mini-challenge tournament: Ringmaster. It will take place on Friday (7/11), from 9:30AM to 12 PM. The actual class session will start at the normal time of 8AM as always.

Additionally, on Monday we will distribute out our summer camp t-shirts. On Friday (day of tournament), we request all students to wear their summer camp t-shirts. I'll send out a reminder on Thursday with this information.
