2016-2017 VEX Robotics Competition Starstruck
A group of 9 sophomores and a "single" freshman passionate for robotics and STEM. We are a first year team and hope to have a great season learning and growing our skills.
Shatoparba Banerjee
10, Team Captain
Shatoparba is a sophomore who has been in robotics since freshman year. She is the team captain and participates in all areas for the team. Outside of robotics, she likes to dance and is a second degree black belt in taekwondo. She has previous experience in middle school in FLL.
Jaidev Gopakumar 10, builder Jaidev is a sophomore who has been also in robotics since freshman year. He is the co-captain of the team. Outside of robotics, he plays and excels at many sports. |
Gaurav Gorjilla 10, Builder Gaurav is another sophomore on the team who started has been in robotics since freshman year. He is the main CADer as well as one of the teams many builders. Outside of robotics, he is a rocket enthusiast and excels at maths and sciences. |
Rohan Vaidya 9, Builder Rohan is the only freshman on this team and is one of the builders. He has a keen interest in robotics and hopes to excel exceptionally this year. Outside of robotics, he excels in playing tennis. |
Rohan Gulhar 10, Builder Rohan is one of our sophomore builders. Having started Robotics in his freshman year, he is presently active as part of the competitive league. Outside of Robotics, he is the president of an outreach club called Project Rishi. He also enjoys working out. |
Saket Shanmugam 10, Builder Saket is another one of our 10th grade builders, who started as a novice in his freshman year. Outside of Robotics, he enjoys playing badminton. |
Siddharth Somala 10, Builder Sid is one of our main builders. He is in the 10th grade, having joined Robotics as a freshman novice. When not in Robotics, he enjoys running. |
Timothy Unsulangi 10, Builder Timothy is one of our Sophomore builders. He joined as a Novice, and became a competitive member this year. When not in Robotics he enjoys his schoolwork and reading the New York Times. |
Tanay Komalru 10, Programmer Tanay is the main programmer on our team, and one of the backup drivers. another of our sophomores, outside of Robotics he enjoys badminton and Boy Scouts. |
Pranay Mantramurti
10, Builder
Pranay is another of our builders. He joined Robotics as a freshman, and has continued on into the competitive teams as a sophomore. Outside of Robotics, he enjoys writing.
