Mentors and Volunteers

Transportation to and from competitions!

We need parents to:
  • Drive to and from competition venues
  • Help out at competitions in any way
  • Support students as they compete in Robotics

Each team is required to provide their own drivers to drive students and their robot to and from competitions. All parents who sign up to become a driver must sign up on BeAMentor, SRVUSD's volunteering system. Refer to the section below.

Contact your team's captain for information on how to become a parent driver.

BeAMentor

This is mandatory for all adult volunteers who wish to drive on field trips. We highly suggest that all parents of competitive members sign up now to avoid issues later, as clearance can take up to 10 days for Levels 1 and 2, and up to 45 days for Level 3.

Note that this is not required for parents who are just volunteering at the DVHS Tournament.

There are three levels of volunteers:
  • Level 1: Volunteering on Campus
  • Level 2: Drivers on Field Trips
    • To and from competitions
  • Level 3: Overnight Chaperones
    • Chaperones for the World Championships
